Climatic wind tunnels

The emphasis of the climatic wind tunnels is on the testing of the vehicles in all possible weather and climate conditions, combined with a high repeat accuracy. Whether rain, snow, sunshine, dry or wet, -40 or +60 degrees, it must be possible to recreate even the most unusual constellations. With its experience and know-how, MCE takes on every ambitious assignment as a general contractor.

Aeroacoustic wind tunnels

The focus of these wind tunnels is on the design of the aerodynamics and the acoustics of the interior space. As a prominent factor, the sound insulation of the facilities must be mastered.

Daimler climatic wind tunnels

As per the high-quality standards of the client, a test centre was built for Daimler AG at the location of Sindelfingen. Together with our partners, as the general contractor, MCE implemented two climatic wind tunnels along with the accompanying infrastructure. From conceptual design to commissioning, MCE realized the main building and the wind tunnel using steel construction.

Wind tunnels

Vienna Climatic Wind Tunnel

For the client Rail Tec Arsenal, as the general contractor, MCE worked with technology partner AIOLOS to build a climatic wind tunnel for rail vehicles and large vehicles in Vienna. The service included two test tunnels, including the accompanying systems. The tunnel is designed to replicate extreme environmental conditions and enables rain and snow simulations at temperatures ranging from minus 50°C to plus 60°C.
