Reconstruction of the Kochchikade Bridge

The new construction of the Kochchikade Bridge using a composite steel deck replaces the old double-lane bridge across the Maha Oya River, which was erected in 1936. The new construction of the bridge, for which MCE took charge of everything from the project development to the turnkey handover, improves the transport infrastructure in the region with lasting effect, given that the route to the north is one of the most important along the east coast of Sri Lanka.
